Automobile News: Maruti Suzuki has cut the prices of many of its cars, giving customers the benefit of the new GST 2.0. From September 22, 2025, the company has reduced prices by up to Rs 1.29 lakh. Popular models like the S-Presso, Alto K10, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, and Fronx are now more affordable. With the GST on small cars falling from 28% to 18%, buyers of compact and hybrid cars can save a lot. These price cuts come just before the festive season and are expected to boost sales and make cars more accessible across India.

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed in its official filing that the GST 2.0 benefits are being passed directly to customers. The revised prices are now available at both Arena and Nexa showrooms nationwide. The government’s tax reduction aims to lower the cost of owning a car and encourage more sales during the festive season. Experts say this step could boost demand in India’s passenger car market, especially for budget and compact SUV models.

What this means for buyers

The timing of these price reductions coincides with the festive season, which is usually the busiest time for car sales in India. By making cars more affordable for budget buyers and offering savings on premium models, Maruti Suzuki aims to increase its sales. For customers, this is a chance to buy popular cars at their lowest prices in recent years.
